Cpl. Kyle Friel, a motor transport mechanic with Civil Affairs Team 5, Detachment 1, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5, uses an improvised workout device made from a steel bar, a 10-pound weight and cord to exercise the muscles in his forearms at Combat Outpost Rawah, Iraq, August 19. This is one of several exercise machines improvised by servicemembers until the new gymnasium at Rawah is completed. The outpost will also have other improvements in the next few months such as new living quarters and a new chow hall that will improving the quality of life for the Marines there.
