Marines with Company C, Task Force 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 1, play soccer with some of the local children at Karmah Iraqi Police Station, December 19. Since the beginning of the deployment in August, Marines from Company C, 1st Bn., 3rd Marines, have lived, worked, and operated out of the police station to assist the Iraqi police gain profficiency. Throughout the month of December, Marines have left their presence at the station, leaving the increasingly capable Iraqi's to sustain the area and begin operating more independently.
