Sergeant Aaron A. Bouquet, a fire direction controlman with Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, lowers the U.S. colors in timing with the New Zealand colors during a commemoration ceremony at the National War Memorial, here, June 14. Bouquet, a 23-year-old native of Comanche, Texas, also stood guard at the foot of the memorial. Prominent government and military officials of the United States and New Zealand commemorated the 70th anniversary of the arrival of U.S. forces in Wellington during World War II. Australian and New Zealand forces were conducting heavy fighting in Northern Africa in 1942 while U.S. forces played a significant role in the defense of Oceania.::r::::n::(U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
