First Lieutenant Brian Wlcek, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, and a native of Danville, Calif., led his platoon during a live-fire exercise at Range 410A at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., Jan. 19, 2014. The battalion conducted platoon attacks at the range for the first event of their Integrated Training Exercise. ITX is a 30-day training evolution to prepare them for their upcoming combat deployment. The platoon attacks consisted of an assault on three entrenched positions with mortar and machine gun fire.
