CAMP LEMONNIER, DJIBOUTI (Jan. 10, 2014) – U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Patrick Hilty, staff noncommissioned officer-in-charge of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Detachment, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, discusses the properties of an improvised explosive device (IED) made from a pressure cooker during counter IED training at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti Jan. 10, 2014. Approximately 50 Marines assigned to Charlie Company, 13th MEU completed counter IED training, which covered a wide variety of techniques to defeat enemy IEDs. The 13th MEU is deployed with the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
