ARMY NATIONAL TRAINING CENTER FORT IRWIN, Calif. - Marines with Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, practice speed reload drills during a weeklong field exercise here, during Nov. 18 to Nov. 24, 2013. A speed reload is conducted when a magazine has no more rounds forcing the Marine to release the empty magazine, letting it fall to the ground while inserting a magazine with more rounds to reengage the enemy. The Marines conducted a 175 mile road march from their home at Camp Pendleton to Fort Irwin to use the larger ranges on the Army base.
