A light armored vehicle carrying Marines serving with 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion unloaded out of a C-17 Globemaster cargo plane during a strategic mobility exercise here, April 24, 2013. The exercise was designed to teach Marines the basics of loading and unloading their LAVs from a aircraft, making 1st LAR a more mobile force. The aircraft can hold up to four LAVs, and with a maximum flying distance of 2,400 miles.
