Sarah Phillips, the wife of 2nd Lt. Evan Phillips of Charlie Company, 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, applies camouflage face paint to Ashley Hopkins, the wife of Cpl. Joshua Hopkins, of Headquarters and Service Company, 3rd AABn, during the battalion’s Jane Wayne Day here, March 15, 2013. Jane Wayne Day provides spouses and family members of Marines and sailors with the opportunity to get a taste of Marine Corps training and experience a day in the life of a Marine with 3rd AABn. Family members participated in Marine Corps Martial Arts Program training, received instruction on several Marine Corps weapon systems, and rode on amphibious assault vehicles. The Phillips’ are St. Louis natives, and the Hopkins’ are Auburn, N.Y., natives.
