CAMP LEMONNIER, DJIBOUTI (Jan. 10, 2014)  – U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Patrick Hilty, staff noncommissioned officer-in-charge of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Detachment, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, explains how a projectile can be used as an improvised explosive device (IED) during counter IED training at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti Jan. 10, 2014. Approximately 50 Marines assigned to Charlie Company, 13th MEU completed counter IED training, which covered a wide variety of techniques to defeat enemy IEDs. The 13th MEU is deployed with the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
