RAMADI, Iraq (August 6, 2008) - A Females for Ramadi Council member speaks during the "Women of Tomorrow" women's conference held at the Ramadi Sunni Endowment Center August 4. The purpose of the conference was to give the women who attended a chance to discuss common issues in today’s Iraqi society and educate the women about opportunities and support that is available to them. Veterans Affairs Hospital, washes his hands before performing brain surgery at Ramadi General Hospital July 30. The purpose of the surgery was to imply practical knowledge to a real-life situation with the guidance and assistance of an American neurosurgeon. “The intent was to show the Iraqi doctors different, more advanced ways in conducting a surgery,” Carey said. “They watched my every move and procedure from start to finish.” (Official U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. According to Kareem Ali, the Ramadi North Precinct Council head, the entire city was looking forward to the reopening. “The people are so glad they have this soccer field again,” Ali said through an interpreter. “Before the reopening, it seemed like everywhere I went somebody would mention it to me and tell me how excited they were.
