Battalion honors Marine killed in Fallujah
Cpl. Daniel R. Amaya was exactly where he told his Marines he always would be: leading them from the front. The battalion paused operations April 20 to honor their fallen Marine.

'Magnificent Bastards' honor their fallen
The reflected sunlight, glaring off the aluminum slates of engraved metal, hung in silent tribute to Marines and sailors killed fighting the enemy in Ar Ramadi. Marines paused, heads bowed, to remember their dead. A memorial service was held at Camp Combat Outpost, Iraq April 11. Marines from 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment honored their fallen

Guarding supply lines and braving fire all in a day's work
The chain of bridges on the outskirts of this Iraqi city don't appear to be much. But they are just as crucial to the success of the mission as bullets or chow. In fact, the bridges link the bulk of Coalition Forces in Baghdad with their ammunition and food. "Our job here is to keep the supply lies to Baghdad safe," said 2nd Lt. Brandon T.

Protective gear proves itself again and again
It's heavy, hot and cumbersome. It also saves lives. Protective gear Marines wear in Iraq is performing as advertised. Helmets, Interceptor vests with the small-arms protective inserts and even goggles are keeping Marines alive and in the fight in Iraq. Marines from 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, assigned to the 1st Marine Division are

Small platoon takes on big challenge for RCT-1
It's easy to feel safe when you've thousands of Marines ready to come to your defense. The commander of Regimental Combat Team 1, though, has a few more reasons than the average Marine, however. Marines from 1st Tank Battalion's Scout Platoon took on the extra duty of providing direct security for Col. John A. Toolan, RCT-1's commanding officer.

'Docs' answer Marine call for corpsman up
Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Thomas J. Cupo doesn't count on being promoted soon. He missed his promotion test to join his Marines for the battle that waged around Fallujah last week. He's been days without a shower and is just as weary as the Marines with whom he serves. And the hospital corpsman wouldn't trade it for the world. "I wouldn't be

Clean socks a boon to infantry in Fallujah
The gruff bark from the platoon sergeant was music to the ears of the infantrymen of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment. "Your dog-gone packs are here, now lets get a working party going," said Gunnery Sgt. James E. Dinwoodie, platoon sergeant for Weapons Platoon, Company E. After days of gunfire, sweat and grime, there's something to be
