MARINE CORPS AAIR GROUNDD COMBAT CENTER TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. -- Two Marines assigned to the 1st Marine Division sustained small arms gunshot wounds while conducting a live-fire range during a scheduled training exercise aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, Sunday, May 6th, 2018. Both Marines were evacuated by air ambulance to receive proper medical care for their injuries. At this time, one Marine has been released from the hospital and the other Marine remains hospitalized and is in serious condition.

Officials are investigating the circumstances of the accident at this time.
