Families and friends welcome home their Marines and sailors after an eight-month deployment with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The battalion has been deployed aboard USS Greenbay, USS Peleliu and USS Dubuque as part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group, U.S. Central Command theater reserve force, providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts. Castaneda, a native of Gibbon, Neb., is the only mechanic in the battery and is in charge of keeping more than 40 vehicles properly maintained and running.
