Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines
LtCol Erick T. Clark

Lieutenant Colonel Clark is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska, served as an enlisted Marine from 1991 – 1998, attained the rank of Sergeant, and was commissioned via the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program in December 1998. 

Lieutenant Colonel Clark’s command assignments:  As a Lieutenant; Platoon Commander, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, 2d Marine Division – deployed with 22D Marine Expeditionary Unit.  As a Captain; Company Commander, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, 2d Marine Division – deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. 

Lieutenant Colonel Clark’s staff assignments:  As a Lieutenant; Company Executive Officer, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, 2d Marine Division.  As a Captain; Assistant Operations Officer Battalion Landing Team 1/8, tactics instructor and Staff Platoon Commander, The Basic School and the Infantry Officers Course.  As a Major; Operations Officer, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, 2d Marine Division – deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM; Operations Officer, United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission, Republic of Korea; Combat Arms Majors Monitor, Manpower and Reserve Affairs; Operations Officer, 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit, II MEF.  

Lieutenant Colonel Clark is a graduate of The Basic School (1999), Infantry Officer Course (1999), Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (2007), and Marine Corps Command and Staff College (2011).  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland (1998) and a Masters in Military Studies from Marine Corps University (2011). 

His personal decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V”, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with one gold star), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat “V” (with two gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon.
