Major Dominique B. Neal
Major Dominique B. Neal is a native of San Francisco, California. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in English and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant.
In October 2000, following completion of The Basic School and Infantry Officers Course, he reported to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines Twenty-nine Palms, CA. He served as a Rifle Platoon Commander, Executive Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, and Rifle Company Commander, Company L. During his tour he deployed to Okinawa under the Unit Deployment Program and Iraq in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom II.
In November 2004, Major Neal reported to School of Infantry (West) Camp Pendleton, CA. He served as the Bravo Company Commander, Infantry Training Battalion. He additionally served as the Crewman Course Officer in Charge and Executive Officer, Light Armored Vehicle Training Company, Advanced Infantry Training Battalion.
In 2008, Major Neal reported to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in Camp Pendleton, CA. He served as the Bravo Company Commander and Headquarters and Service Company Commander completing two deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom 08-02 and Enduring Freedom 10-2.
In June 2012, Major Neal was assigned to Marine Corps Recruiting Station Los Angeles as the Commanding Officer until July 2015.
Major Neal is a graduate of the Light Armored Vehicle Leaders Course, the U.S. Army Maneuver Captains Career Course, and the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in which he earned a Masters Degree in Military Studies (MMS).
Major Neal's awards include the Bronze Star with Combat Distinguishing Device, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Citation with one gold star, Meritorious Unit Citation, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
