Captain Scott Jennings

Capt Scott Jennings graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the Naval ROTC program. In August 2006, he reported to The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia, for basic officer training. Upon completion of the Basic Officer Course, he was assigned to 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion, and reported to Camp Pendleton, California to attend the Assault Amphibian Officer's course.

Upon graduation in January 2008, Capt Jennings served as an Assistant Platoon Commander with Charlie Company, 3d AABN, as they conducted security and stability operations in Al-Anbar Province, Iraq, as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom 6-08. After returning from Iraq, Capt Jennings was assigned as the Mine/Countermine Platoon commander with Headquarters and Service Company. In 2009, Capt Jennings was then assigned to Alpha Company, where his platoon deployed to Okinawa, Japan, in support of Battalion Landing Team 2/5 as part of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit's Fall Patrol.

In May 2010, Capt Jennings was assigned to the Amphibious Vehicle Test Branch, Marine Corps Systems Command, as the Test Management Officer. Over the course of his tour, he participated in several major developmental and operational test events, to include Reliability Growth Testing of the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle, Amphibious Vehicle Habitability Assessment Testing, Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) assessment of the Amphibious Assault Vehicle, and Water Maneuverability Demonstrations of proposed Marine Personnel Carrier prototypes.

In May 2013, Capt Jennings deployed to Afghanistan to act as Senior Watch Officer with Regimental Combat Team 7 for Operation Enduring Freedom 13-2. Upon his return, he served as the Operations Officer for Assault Amphibian School Battalion until June 2014, when he assumed his current duties as Commander of Echo Company, 3d AA

Captain Jennings' personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star.
