SgtMaj Taylor was born in Olongapoh City, Phillipines and grew up Green Cove Springs, FL. He enlisted in the Marine Corps June 1999 and reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC on 6 July 2000, He attend the Basic Aviation Supply School, Meridian, MS and was assigned the Military Occupational Specialty of 6672, Aviations Supply Specialist.
SgtMaj Taylor eported to MALS-12, MCAS Iwakuni, Japan January 2001. In March 2002, SgtMaj Taylor was nominated and selected to participate in the newly implemented Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. Upon graduating the course, he attained the MOS of 8551, Martial Arts Instructor. In September 2002, he deployed to Thailand for Operation Cobra Gold.
In July 2003, SgtMaj Taylor executed orders to MAG-46, MCAS Miramar. On March 2004, was promoted to Sergeant and served as the MAG-46 Color Sergeant. SgtMaj Taylor executed an individual augment assignment and deployed with MALS-42 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where he served as the Aviation Supply NCOIC, Assistant Supply Chief, and as a Martial Arts Instructor for HQ Co.
On April 2007, SgtMaj Taylor reported to Drill Instructor School Class 3-07 at MCRD San Diego, CA . Upon graduation, he reported to Company A, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, serving four cycles as a Drill Instructor and three cycles as a Senior Drill Instructor and was promoted to Staff Sergeant during his second cycle.
Having completed a successful tour, SgtMaj Taylor reported on July 2010 to MALS-24 Aviation Supply Department. On December 2010, he received special orders to the MAG-24 HQ to serve as the MAG-24 Fiscal Chief, Fiscal OIC, and the Company Gunnery Sergeant. He completed the Martial Arts Instructor Trainer course in MCB Quantico, VA on July 2012 and attained the MOS of 0917. SgtMaj Taylor attended Advance Course in Camp Pendleton, CA and was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant on October 2012. On November 2012, he was hand selected as the 1st Marine Air Wing liaison at Travis AFB, in support of 1STMAW and 3RD MAW units.
On April 2013, he executed Assistant Marine Officer Instructor orders to the United States Naval Academy to serve as the 13th Company Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) and Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Senior Marine. While serving as the 13th Company SEL, SgtMaj Taylor was influential in the company's transformation to Honor Company. Upon a successful tour, he reported to MALS-26 MCAS New River, NC on October 2016 and served as Consumable Management Division Warehouse SNCOIC. SgtMaj Taylor was frocked on February 2017 to 1stSgt and reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 2 and served as the Headquarters Company 1stSgt.
On July 2018, 1stSgt Taylor executed orders to 2d Transportation Support Battalion and served as 1stSgt for Support Company then subsequently for Company "A". On Feb 2019 was selected for MRF-E 19.2 and deployed with CLB 24 and attached with 1st Bn, 8th Mar as the Combat Logistics Company 1stSgt. Upon returning from deployment, SgtMaj Taylor became the Headquarters and Service Company 1stSgt.
On July 2020, 1stSgt Taylor executed orders to Headquarters Battalion, 3d Marine Division on Camp Butler, Okinawa, Japan serving as the HQ Co 1stSgt and Comm Co 1stSgt.
On January 2024 SgtMaj Taylor reported for duty 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines aboard Camp Pendleton, CA serving as serving as the Co A 1stSgt and deployed for the 31st MEU Patrol 24.02.
SgtMaj Taylor currently serves as the Unit Senior Enlisted Leader for 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines aboard Camp Pendleton, CA.
