Brigadier General Andrew Priddy assumed duties as the Commanding General of 1st Marine Division in May 2026. His previous assignment was the Chief of Staff, Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO. Brigadier General Priddy was commissioned in 1995.
A career infantry officer he has served in 2d Battalion, 4th Marines; 3d Battalion, 3d Marines; commanding officer of 2d Battalion, 1st Marines; Deputy CJ3 for Combined Joint Task Force Operation INHERENT RESOLVE; and the commanding officer of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
He has multiple MEU deployments and tours to the Middle East and Europe. His staff assignments include Military Assistant to the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps; Senior Aide to the Commandant of the Marine Corps; Planner and Aide-de-Camp to the Commander U.S. Special Operations Command; Operations Officer and Parade Commander, Marine Barracks Washington D.C.; and Staff Platoon Commander, The Basic School. Brigadier General Priddy graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Ocean Engineering.
He is a graduate of the Amphibious Warfare School, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Joint Force Staff College, and the U.S. Naval War College.
He served as the Commandant’s Fellow to the Center for Strategic and International Studies and has master’s degrees from the College of Naval Warfare and the George Washington University.
