Sergeant Major Reynolds is a native of Ohio and graduated from recruit training in May of 2004 from Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina.
Sergeant Major Reynolds then reported to Infantry Training Battalion (East) and earned the MOS of 0311. He then received orders to 3D Battalion 3D Marines reporting to Kilo company and held the billets of Team Leader and Squad Leader. He deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2004, Sergeant Major Reynolds was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal in February of 2005. He was then promoted to the rank of Corporal meritoriously in March of 2006. Sergeant Major Reynolds then deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006. He was then promoted to the rank of Sergeant in May of 2007.
Sergeant Major Reynolds then reported for duty at Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) and served in the billets of Platoon Sergeant and Platoon Commander. Sergeant Major Reynolds then received orders to 3d Battalion 2d Marines in September of 2010. During this tour he deployed in 2011 as a Platoon Sergeant in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Sergeant Major Reynolds was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in December of 2012. He once again deployed as a Platoon Sergeant in 2013 in support of the Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 3/2 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and again in 2015 on a UDP. During this tour he attended Martial Arts Instructor Trainer Course and Infantry Unit Leaders Course (IULC) earning the MOS 0369. .
Sergeant Major Reynolds reported to Marine Corps Combat Instructor School (MCCIS) in October of 2015 and reported to Infantry Training Battalion. He then served as a Platoon Commander before being selected in September of 2016 to teach at Marine Corps Combat Instructor School. Sergeant Major Reynolds was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and reported to Marine Corps Advisor Company Alpha in September of 2018. Sergeant Major Reynolds served as the Operations Chief during this tour and attended Legal Officer Course, Maneuver Warfare, and Amphibious Warfare Training. He was then promoted to the rank of First Sergeant in October of 2021.
Sergeant Major Reynolds then received orders to Weapons and Field Training Battalion on Parris Island, SC. Here he served as a company First Sergeant for Field Training Company and Headquarters and Service Company. During this tour he attended the Senior Leader Legal Course, Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, and Cornerstone. Sergeant Major Reynolds was then promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major in September of 2024 and currently serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for 3D Battalion 1st Marines.
Sergeant Major Reynolds currently holds a Masters degree in Environmental Policy and Management. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with combat distinguishing device and four gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with combat distinguishing device and three gold stars, and the Combat Action Ribbon with one gold star.
