Colonel Jason C. Armas is from Rye, NY, and earned his commission through the United States Naval Academy in May 2001.
Colonel Armas’ assignments in the Operating Forces include: Rifle Platoon Commander, Weapons Platoon Commander, and Executive Officer with Company A, 1st Battalion, 3d Marines (2002-05), participating in Operation Enduring Freedom – Philippines, Joint Special Operation Task Force, Zamboanga, Philippines, Unit Deployment Program, Okinawa, Japan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, participating in Operation Phantom Fury (Al Fajr); Executive Officer, Company C, Reconnaissance Platoon Commander, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Battalion Landing Team 3d Battalion, 1st Marines, Commanding Officer Company A, and Commanding Officer Company C, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion (2005-2009) deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2005-06, 2007, 2008-2009; Commanding Officer, Headquarters and Service Company and Weapons Company for 3d Battalion, 3d Marines, (2010-2012) deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.
