A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Colonel Lambert enlisted in the Marine Corps on 3 June 1991 from Houston, Texas. He commissioned through the meritorious commissioning program from the rank of Staff Sergeant after serving as an Infantry and Reconnaissance Marine.
His operational assignments include serving as a Mortarman, Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines (UDP and 31st MEU); Reconnaissance Scout and Team Leader, 1st Force Reconnaissance Company (11th and 13th MEUSOC); Assistant Operations Officer and CAAT/Mobile Assault Platoon Commander, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines (11th MEU and OIF); Platoon and Company Commander, Force Reconnaissance Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion (OEF); Executive Officer, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines (31st MEU); and Battalion Commander, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines (MRF-D).
His staff and supporting establishment assignments include Instructor, Marine Combat Dive School; Officer In Charge, Basic Reconnaissance Course, Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry - West; Reconnaissance Capability Integration Officer, Capability Development and Integration; Officer in Charge, Special Training Branch, Expeditionary Operations Training Group/G-7, I MEF; Branch Head, Manpower Plans Policy-10, Manpower and Reserve Affairs; and AC/S G-3, 3D Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
Colonel Lambert attended Expeditionary Warfare School, Command and Staff College, and the Naval War College.
He is married to Tanya and they have an empty nest. Their daughters are Sarah, Gianna, and Chloe and they have families of their own. Their son, Trystan, is a Phoenix Police Department Officer.
