LtCol Christopher R. Hart

Lieutenant Colonel Hart was raised in Tualatin, Oregon; and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1996. He commissioned as a second lieutenant through the Platoon Leaders Course in 2004, and was assigned as a Field Artillery Officer upon graduation from The Basic School and Field Artillery Officer Basic Course in 2005.

He had the privilege to command 1st Platoon, Battery K 3/12, 2d Battalion, 11th Marines (2006-2007); Security Force (Weapons, V27) Company, Regimental Combat Team-7 (2012-2013); Battery F, 2d Battalion, 11th Marines (2013-2014); and, Recruiting Station Lansing (2016-2019).

His previous assignments include: Forward Observer, Company F, Battalion Landing Team 2/5 (2005-2006); Executive Officer, Battery K 3/12, 2d Battalion, 11th Marines (2007-2008); Target Information Officer and Assistant Operations Officer, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (2008-2009); Executive Officer, Recruiting Station Detroit (2009-2012); Advisor Team Officer-in-Charge (2012); Assistant Fire Support Coordinator, 2d Battalion, 11th Marines in direct support of 5th Marines (2014-2015); Executive Officer, 2d Battalion, 11th Marines (2019-2020); Deputy AC/S Recruiting, Western Recruiting Region; and Executive Officer, 12th Marine Corps District.

Lieutenant Colone Hart assumed the duties as Commanding Officer, 3d Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment on 13 June 2023.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University (2004) and Master’s degree from Marine Corps Command and Staff College (2016). His operational experience includes Operation IRAQI FREEDOM I and 06-08 (Iraq: 2003 and 2007), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (2005-2006), WESTPAC 08-02 (2008), and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 12.1 (Afghanistan: 2012-2013).
