Major Dammin is a native of Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Tulane
University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He then completed The
Basic Officer Course and Field Artillery Basic Officer Course in 2009.
Major Dammin served in 5th Battalion, 11th Marines between 2009-2012. He
deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan as Battery R Executive
Officer during this tour.
Major Dammin next served in 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO)
from 2012-2015 in the billets of Firepower Control Team Leader, Supporting
Arms Liaison Team Leader, and Brigade Platoon Commander. He deployed with
the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit as a Firepower Control Team Leader during
this tour.
Major Dammin graduated Resident Expeditionary Warfare School in 2016. He
received the Larry K. Shipman Award as the school's top Ground Combat
Element student and was a member of the Marine Corps University President's
Honor Roll.
Major Dammin later served in 1st Battalion, 10th Marines from 2016-2017 as
the Assistant Fire Support Coordinator and Battery Commander. He then served
in Task Force Southwest 18.1 as Fire Support Coordinator, deploying to
Operation Freedom's Sentinel/Resolute Support from 2017-2018.
Major Dammin transferred to The Basic School in 2019 where he served in the
billets of Section Head, Warfighting Instructor Group (WFIG); Company
Commander, Company G 7-19; and Deputy Director, WFIG from 2019-2021.
Major Dammin then earned a Masters of Military Studies Degree from Marine
Corps University's Resident Command and Staff College in 2022.
In July 2022, Major Dammin reported to 3rd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment.
