Lieutenant Edwin Y. Handley

Lieutenant Edwin Y. Handley is from San Diego, CA. LT Handley received a Bachelor’s of Theology with an emphasis in Pastoral Studies from Cathedral Bible College, Escondido, CA. He went on to receive his Master of Divinity and Master of Religion with a concentration in Theology and Ethics from Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, CA. In 2004 Handley was appointed the teaching pastor at East Point Christian Center in Escondido, CA and was appointed the lead pastor in 2012 and led the congregation until 2015. While serving as a pastor he was a licensed General Engineering Contractor. He is an ordained minister and endorsed as a military chaplain with the Assemblies of God.

 

On March 31, 2015, Handley was commissioned as Lieutenant Junior Grade in the Navy Chaplain Corps. Following his commission, Chaplain Handley completed Officer Development School in Newport, RI and Professional Navy Chaplain Basic Leadership School (PNC-BLC) in Columbia, SC. Previously he served as the Command Chaplain for Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing-10 at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, where he qualified as a Naval Aviation Observer (NAO).  In 2018 he received his diploma for JPME-1 from the Naval War College. Currently he serves as the Battalion Chaplain for 2D Battalion, 7TH Marines located in Twentynine Palms, CA, where he qualified as a Fleet Marine Force Qualified Officer (FMFQO).

 

LT Handley’s personal awards and decorations include: Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various campaign medals.
