Sergeant Major, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment
Sergeant Major Theodore. G. Ingram III

Sergeant Major Ingram was born in Jacksonville, FL and went on to graduate from Robert E. Lee High School in 1998. He enlisted into the Marine Corps October 1999 and attended Recruit Training December 1999 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. He was meritorious promoted to Private First Class (PFC). Upon completion, he received training at Marine Combat Training, Camp Geiger, North Carolina and went on to the Basic Supply Administration School at Camp Johnson, North Carolina where he became a Supply Administration Clerk 3043. In May 2000, PFC Ingram reported for duty at Combat Service Support Detachment-21, 2d Force Service Support Group, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina where he served as a Consolidated Memorandum Receipt property clerk. He was later promoted to Lance Corporal in November 2000. In June 2002, he was promoted meritoriously to Corporal (Cpl).

 

In May 2004, Cpl Ingram was assigned to the Organic Supply section as the Supply Property Chief at Blount Island Command Jacksonville, FL. He was promoted to Sergeant (Sgt) in August 2004, and later deployed to Camp Fallujah, Iraq as a Tactical Advisor during Operation Iraqi Freedom February 2005. Sgt Ingram was awarded a Certificate of Commendation for his efforts during the deployment.

 

In November 2006, Sgt Ingram was assigned to 6th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station, Fort Lauderdale, FL for duty as a canvassing recruiter at Recruiting Sub-Station Hollywood. Sgt Ingram was promoted to Staff Sergeant (SSgt) in March 2008. After a successful tour, SSgt Ingram was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion-5, Combat Logistics Regiment-1, Camp Pendleton, CA to assume the duties as the Battalion Supply Chief in January 2010. SSgt Ingram deployed to Afghanistan in February 2012 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom II in direct support of Regimental Combat Team-5, 1st Marine Division. SSgt Ingram was later promoted to Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) and immediately assumed the duties as the Headquarters and Service Company, Company Gunnery Sergeant from October 2012 to July 2013.

 

In July 2013, GySgt Ingram was transferred to U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) to serve as the Headquarters and Service Battalion Supply Chief. During his tour at MARFORPAC, GySgt Ingram participated in the Balikatan 2014 and 2015 (Philippines) exercise as the MARFORPAC Camp Commandant. He also participated in the Ulchi Freedom Guardian 2015 (South Korea) exercise as the MARFORPAC Camp Commandant. GySgt Ingram was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (impact) for his efforts during the Battalion's Field Supply and Maintenance Analysis Office and Inspector General Inspections in 2015. He was also awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in 2016 for his collective efforts throughout his tenure at MARFORPAC.

 

In March 2016, GySgt Ingram was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant (1stSgt) and assigned to 3d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group-38 to assume the duties as the Battery B 1stSgt. From September 2016 to April 2017, 1stSgt Ingram deployed with the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command 17.1 as the Security Forces Company 1stSgt. 1stSgt Ingram was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his efforts during the deployment. 1stSgt Ingram was later awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his continued efforts and performance while serving as the Battery B 1stSgt at 3d LAAD Bn.

 

In January 2019, 1stSgt Ingram was assigned to 2d Battalion, 5th Marines to assume the duties as the Headquarters and Service Company 1stSgt. From May 2020 to October 2020, he deployed with the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command 20.2. In February 2021, 1stSgt Ingram assumed his current billet as the Battalion Sergeant Major (SgtMaj) for 2d Battalion, 5th Marines. He was frocked to the rank of SgtMaj July 2021. Sergeant Major Ingram's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd Award) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
