Families and Friends of Charlie Company,
On behalf of 1stSgt Game and myself welcome to 1st Tank Battalion; my name is 1stLt Dean Ottinger and I have the distinct honor of leading the Marines of Charlie Company as Commanding Officer. I am not new to Charlie Company and over the last several months I have had the privilege of working with these Marines, getting to know each of them and witnessing the outstanding work they do on a daily basis.
It is my goal that these Marines continue to develop into professional and proficient warfighters; advancing in their knowledge and skills as Marines, and that through the trials and successes this Company experiences day in and day out that they evolve as cohesive unit. Achieving these goals is only possible when we include the family and friends of each Marine as a part of that unit; you are critical to their welfare.
Our path to success is long and strenuous, the commitment that each one of these Marines has made is immense and absolute; only through constant readiness can we fulfill our purpose and the friends and family left on the home front are an integral part of that. Your stable presence and the sacrifices you have made on behalf of the Marines of Charlie Company is a combat multiplier. It is your steadfast support of these Marines and the work they do that allows all of us to execute our mission with the confidence and focus necessary to safely accomplish our goals. Building and maintaining that critical Marine Corps Family Team is essential to our success and I ask that you please remember Ms. Jany Wasdin, the 1st Tank Battalion Family Readiness Officer (FRO) is your link between what we do here and the families that make it possible. The FRO is a tremendous resource and a wealth of knowledge able to provide assistance to the families adjusting to this unique lifestyle.
