Marines serving with Alpha Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, conduct a mission brief before inserting during a mission rehearsal exercise here, Aug. 13, 2013. The Marines spent several days traversing foreign terrain while locating and gathering intelligence on possible enemy combatants in the area. Several role-players were used to make the exercise as realistic as possible. After gathering enough information on the enemy, the Marines conducted a raid on the enemy base.

The Marines spent several days traversing foreign terrain while locating and gathering intelligence on possible enemy combatants in the area.
