Maj. Matthew R. Black (right), company commander, and Gunnery Sgt. Devlin D. Root, company gunnery sergeant, both with Delta Company, 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 5, search a vehicle while patrolling through western Al Anbar province, Iraq, June 1. The company, known as "Outlaw," recently replaced Alpha Co., 2nd LAR, to be the direct front fighting force of Operation Defeat Al Queda in the North.
