First Sergeant David A. McKinley, the Alpha Battery first sergeant with 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, retrieves the U.S. flag with Staff Sgt. James Jordan, an engineer section chief with Headquarters Battery, 11th Marine Regiment, during the sunset ceremony at the Parliament House here, June 14. McKinley, 37-year-old native of Cincinnati, presented the flag to Prime Minister of New Zealand John Key. Government and military officials of the United States and New Zealand commemorated the 70th anniversary of the arrival of U.S. forces in Wellington during World War II.
