Capt Warren, Miles G.

Captain Miles G. Warren was born in Roswell, NM in May of 1982.  He received his commission from the United States Naval Academy in 2004 and attended The Basic School in Quantico, VA from June 2004 to January 2005, and was assigned the MOS of 0302.  After graduating from TBS, then Lieutenant Warren attended Infantry Officer Course from January to March 2005. 

Lieutenant Warren then received orders to 2d Battalion, 7th Marines in 29 Palms, CA.  He served with the battalion from April 2005 to September 2007, deploying twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  During this time he held the billets of platoon commander and company executive officer.  During both OIF deployments, Lieutenant Warren operated in and around the city of Fallujah, Iraq.

In October 2007, Lieutenant Warren received orders to the School of Infantry West, and was summarily assigned to Marine Combat Training Battalion.  During this time, he served as a company executive and commanding officer, overseeing the training of entry-level non-infantry Marines.  In May of 2009, Captain Warren was assigned to Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, and assumed the role of Operations Officer of Infantry Unit Leaders Training Company.  His collateral billets included Officer-in-Charge of Infantry Unit Leaders Course, Infantry Squad Leaders Course, and Martial Arts Instructor Course.  In December of 2009, Captain Warren assumed the role of Company Executive Officer for IULTC and remained with the company until September 2010.

In October 2010 to March 2011, Captain Warren attended the U.S. Army’s Maneuver Captains Career Course in Fort Benning, Georgia.  He also completed his Master’s in Business Administration from Colorado State University.

Captain Warren received orders to 2d Battalion, 7th Marines in March 2011.  He was assigned as the Battalion Assistant Operations Officer and deployed to Okinawa, Japan in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.  During the deployment, Captain Warren participated in and helped plan numerous exercises including Talisman Sabre in Australia, Korea Integrated Training Program in South Korea, and PHIBLEX in the Philippines.

Upon return from the 31st MEU, Captain Warren was assigned as Commanding Officer, Company G, 2d Battalion, 7th Marines.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.
