LT Daniel is from Leslie, Georgia. His military career began in the Reserve Component of the Marine Corps, when he reported for recruit training at Recruit Training Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. He drilled with a supply unit at MCLB, Albany, GA. In January 2003 his unit was activated and sent to Camp Lejeune, NC, where he served as platoon sergeant for the Contingency Training Equipment Pool warehouse until his unit returned to Albany, GA in July 2003.
In July 2012 LT Daniel was commissioned as an Ensign in the Chaplain Candidate Program Officer program of the United States Navy. In July 2014 he was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade, superseding into the Navy Chaplain Corps. On 20 November 2014 he graduated from the Naval Chaplaincy School and Center at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. On 01 December 2014 he reported to 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division in MCAGCC, Twentynine Palms, CA, serving as Command Staff Chaplain. On 01 June 2015 he was reassigned to 2d Battalion, 7th Marines to serve as Command Staff Chaplain for the entirety of their deployment cycle. On 01 July 2015 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
LT Daniel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. He later earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling 2007 and a Master of Divinity degree in 2013 from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. He has completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at the University of Kentucky Healthcare, where he also served as the interim night chaplain. He is an ordained elder in the Southern Methodist Church and has pastored churches in South Carolina and Kentucky.
