Captain Green is currently serving as Rifle Company Commander, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Regiment.

Captain Green was born in Vero Beach, FL., and was raised there through high school.  He joined the Platoon Leaders Course and attended Officer Candidates School in 2004 and 2005. He completed his undergraduate education at Florida State University earning a Bachelors of Science in Criminology. He was commissioned in April 2006 and worked through his Officer Selection Officer while awaiting orders to the Basic School.

Following Basic School and the Infantry Officer Course, Captain Green was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines in September 2007.  Prior to arriving at the Battalion, the request for volunteers to fill billets in a reserve unit, 2nd Bn, 24th Marines deploying to Iraq went through those Lt’s assigned to 3/2 and 1/6. He volunteered and deployed to Iraq in 2007 filling the role as a Mobile Assault Platoon Commander with the battalion’s Weapons Co. 

In September 2008 Captain Green returned from Iraq and completed the demobilization process with 2/24, He then was PCA’d to 3rd Bn, 2nd Marines and filled the role as Rifle Company Executive Officer for the 22nd MEU’s Motorized Company. He deployed in 2009 in support of the 22nd MEU. After completing multiple theatre exercises and bilateral training events, the 22nd MEU returned CONUS in December 2009. In January 2010, the 22nd MEU was called upon in response to the earthquake in Haiti. Captain Green deployed in support of Operation Unified Response and returned CONUS in April 2010.

In May of 2010, Captain Green reported to Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale, 6th Marine Corps Recruiting District. He served as the Operations Officer until 2012 and Executive officer to June 2013. He received orders to resident PME and completed Expeditionary Warfare School during the academic year 13/14. Upon completion of EWS he PCS’d to 1st Bn, 4th Marines where he took command of Charlie Company in May 2014.

Captain Green’s personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal (2nd Award).

First Sergeant Weiss enlisted in the Marine Corps on 28 June 1999. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. After graduating Recruit Training he attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Pendleton, California.  Following completion of MCT he attended MOS school at Camp Johnson, North Carolina, for Basic Warehouseman (3051). 

 In November 1999, First Sergeant Weiss received orders to 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, where he served as a Warehouse Clerk.  In August 2000, he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.  In October 2001, while assigned to 1st Tank Battalion he deployed to Egypt to support Operation Bright Star.  In May 2002, he received orders to 3d Force Service Support Group (FSSG) Okinawa, Japan, where he served as a Warehouse Clerk and did a lateral move to the MOS of Radio Operator.  In June 2003, he was promoted to Sergeant and received orders to MOS school at Marine Corps Communication Electronics School at Twenty-nine Palms, California for Radio Operator (0621).

In August 2003, First Sergeant Weiss received orders to 9th Communication Battalion, I Marine Headquarters Group, Camp Pendleton, California, where he served as a Radio Operator for Bravo Company.  In September 2004, he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II, Operation Phantom Fury in Al Fallujah.  

In July 2005, First Sergeant Weiss executed orders to Drill Instructor School class 4-05, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California.  Upon graduation he was assigned to 3d Recruit Training Battalion Company K, where he served as a Drill Instructor, Experienced Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Series Chief Drill Instructor. In February 2007 First Sergeant Weiss was promoted to Staff Sergeant.

In September 2008, he was transferred to Marine Wing Support Squadron 372, Marine Wing Support Group-37 in Camp Pendleton, California, where he served as a Radio Chief and the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company.  In September 2009, he deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  While deployed in Afghanistan, Gunnery Sergeant Weiss served the billets of Company Gunnery Sergeant and Camp Commandant in Camp Barber, Camp Bastion.

In January 2011, First Sergeant Weiss received orders to Drill Instructor School, Class 2-11, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California.  Upon completing the Drill Instructors Prior’s Course, First Sergeant Weiss was assigned to 2d Battalion Company G and subsequently to Company F, where he served as a Series Chief Drill Instructor for both companies.  On September 2011, First Sergeant Weiss was assigned to Drill Instructor School to serve as a squad instructor and the Basic Warrior Training Instructor.  In November 2011, he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and assumed the duties as the Chief Instructor of Drill Instructor School.

In January 2014, First Sergeant Weiss executed orders to 9th Communications Bn and was assigned as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Headquarters Company.  On April 2014, he was transferred to Bravo Company and assumed the duties as the Company First Sergeant.  On December 2014, First Sergeant Weiss was selected to his recent rank.  On January 2015, he was transferred to 1st Bn, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Regiment, where he currently serves in Charlie Company.

First Sergeant Weiss has graduated from the SNCO Advance Course, Basic Instructor Course, Prior Drill Instructor Course, Senior Enlisted Joint PME non-resident program, SNCO Career Course, Martial Arts Instructor Course, Radio Chiefs Course, Drill Instructor School, Sergeants Course, and Corporals Leadership Course.  He has a Bachelors Degree (with Honors) in History.

First Sergeant Weiss’ personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award.
