Captain Pattugalan
Commanding Officer

Captain Pattugalan graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in May 2004. Upon completion of The Basic School and the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, he reported to Battery S, 5th Battalion 10th Marines and served as a Forward Observer with Company A, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion 8th Marines. He subsequently deployed on the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit from May to Dec 2006. Upon return, First Lieutenant Pattugalan returned to 5th Battalion 10th Marines and served as the Fire Direction Officer for Battery S. In April 2007, he was transferred to Headquarters Battery, 3rd Battalion 10th Marines and successfully conducted the Operational Test of the Expeditionary Fire Support System as the platoon commander in July 2007. After reporting to II MEF Headquarters Group, he served as the Operations and Fires & Effects Advisor for Military Transition Team 0122, deploying in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in November 2007.

Returning from deployment in August 2008, Captain Pattugalan reported to 2d Air/Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO), II MEF. He earned his Joint Terminal Attack Controller qualification in September 2008 and served as a Firepower Control Team Leader. While at 2d ANGLICO, Captain Pattugalan deployed in support of both Operation IRAQI FREEDOM with Task Force LAR and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM with the 32d and 33d Georgian Light Infantry Battalions.

Following his tour at 2d ANGLICO, Captain Pattugalan reported to the Expeditionary Warfare School, Quantico, VA. In May 2012, he reported to 1st Battalion, 11th Marines where he served as Headquarters Battery Commander from June to August 2012. He is currently serving as the Alpha Battery Commanding Officer attached to Battalion Landing Team 1st battalion 4th Marines, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
