Staff Sergeant Steven Santiago-Ramos

Small Ensemble Leader, 1st Marine Division Band

Steven Santiago-Ramos entered training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in June of 2005 after graduating from St. Cloud High School in St. Cloud, Florida.  Upon completion of boot camp and combat training in October of 2005, he reported to the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Upon graduation in May of 2006, LCpl Santiago-Ramos reported to the Quantico Marine Corps Band in Quantico, Virginia as a trumpet instrumentalist.

While stationed in Quantico, now Corporal Santiago-Ramos, was deployed to Camp Ashraf, Iraq as well as camp Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Before returning to Marine Corps Band Quantico in May of 2008, he was promoted to Sergeant and awarded the Combat Action Ribbon.

In May of 2009, Sergeant Santiago-Ramos reported to Combat Center Band in Twentynine Palms, California, where he served as Platoon Sergeant and assistant Drum Major, and was promoted to his current rank of Staff Sergeant.  In December of 2011, he reported to the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and completed the Unit leader Course.  In August of 2012, he arrived at The 1st Marine Division Band in Camp Pendleton, California, where he now serves as Small Ensemble Leader.
